Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announces Mass transit system for Sindh.
The prime minister has announced a package for the development of a fast and efficient metro bus system, Green Line, for the country’s commercial hub Karachi, saying that the federal government is keen to revolutionise Karachi's transport system.
The federal government would immediately release Rs15 billion for development of metro bus routes. This Rapid Bus Service will start from Surjani Town and will terminate at Karachi Cantt (Saddar). The length of bus route will be 25 Kilometers.
The prime minister also directed authorities concerned to start work on the project immediately. He said if even Sindh didn’t contribute its share, the federal government will bear full cost of the project.
