Mata e Jaan, Synopsis Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu, a social romantic Urdu novel, written by popular novelist Farhat Ishtiaq is now being turned into a television drama series by Pakistan’s ace film-maker and television director Mehreen Jabbar. The drama serial revolves around a love story of a young couple, a Pakistani boy and a US-born girl studying Engineering and Architecture in Columbia University in the US. The story of “Mata e Jaan” revolves around Haniya and Ibad. Haniya goes to live with her grandmother in the US after her parents’ death and takes admission in an engineering college. Ibad comes to New York to study engineering and takes admission in the same college. He meets Haniya here and they fall in love. Despite his family’s disapproval, Ibad marries Haniya.
