Why is Pakistan not accepting Israel as a country?

Pakistan and Israel have quite a twisted history. In the beginning, Pakistan and Israel didn't have many issues against each other but obviously when Israel started expanding, Pakistan had to stand with Arab Muslim states, not with Israel.

Still, things could have been sorted out until Pakistan did something terrible!

Brigadier Zia-ul-Haq (who later became Army Chief and President of Pakistan) commanded Jordanian Army against the PLO uprising in Jordan.

That incident is called Black September.

Zia-ul-Haq played key-role in crushing the PLO movement in Jordan. This action of Pakistani establishment turned Palestinians against Pakistan.

To make Palestinians understand that Pakistan was not helping Israel but Jordan, they refused to recognize Israel. It was impossible for Pakistan to recognize Israel for at least a generation because being called traitors and Palestinian killers is just something unbearable for a Muslim country.

But then, in late 1970s and 1980s, Israel did something against Pakistan.

Israel tried to destroy Pakistan's nuclear plan with India's support.

This thing obviously made Pakistan angry on Israel. Pakistan was already countering RAW (Indian intelligence agency) and now they had teamed up with Mossad. Obviously America wasn't supporting Pakistan's nuclear as well.

It was a challenge Pakistan had to face and Israel made Pakistan's life pretty difficult in those days.

Eventually, Pakistan did manage to acquire nuclear capability and also developed one of the best ballistic missile programs in the world. Since Israel tried to stop but they couldn't, they see themselves as potential targets or those missiles and that bomb.

Obviously, they are a little hostile towards Pakistan.

So both countries are hostile to each other without actually being each others' targets or having anything against each other directly. It's all like: "I hate you because you helped them" and "I hate you because you did not help me".

Now let's come into present. Why do Pakistan still not recognize Israel. There's only one reason: how could do it when nothing has changed? Musharraf hinted on recognizing Israel as soon as Palestine and Israel reach any solution.

But of course, Pakistan have denied Israel for so long that they cannot establish diplomatic relations unless Palestinians have resolved their disputes with Israel first.

Pakistan is waiting for international community to intervene and make peace. As soon as Israel and Palestine become cordial, Pakistan will recognize Israel and establish diplomatic relations immediately.
