PESHAWAR: The deputy commander of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who have been waging a four-year war against the government in Islamabad, confirmed the twosides were in peace talks, a move that could further fray the US-Pakistan relationship. “Our talks are going in the right direction,” Maulvi Faqir Mohammad, the commander of the Pakistani Taliban in the Bajaur tribal agency and the No. 2 commander overall, told. “If negotiations succeed and we are able to sign a peace agreement in Bajaur, then the government and the Taliban of other areas such as Swat, Mohmand, Orakzai and South Waziristan tribal region will sign an agreement. KARACHI: At least two persons were injured in a blast that occurred near the University of Karachi gate no.2 Saturday, Geo News reported. According to witnesses, a Rangers’ vehicle was near gate no.2 when blast occurred. Initial reports say at least two persons were injured in the blast. A motorcycle was also destroyed as a result of blast, witnesses added. Security forces have cordoned off the area while injured are being shifted to the hospital.
