KABUL: Afghan President Hamid Karzai sought to distance himself on Monday from controversial remarks made in an interview in which he said Afghanistan would back Pakistan against the United States (US) in an all-out war. The presidential palace said Karzai’s comments, made in an interview with private Pakistani television station Geo over the weekend, were “misinterpreted”. NEW DELHI: The Pakistan army allegedly breached Indian security and downloaded all the digital data from the Indian army helicopter that strayed into Skardu on Sunday, The report claimed that the data includes the GPS coordinates and location of all Indian helipads in the Siachen and Kargil areas. “We are treating the incident with utmost concern as coordinates of all helipads in the 14 Corps including Siachen Glacier and LAC are now with Pakistan army with code signs and nicknames,” a senior official told The Hindustan Times. KARACHI: Pakistan has bought the American ALQ-211 AIDEWS (Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare Suite) pod for their F-16 fighters. The ALQ-211 allows the aircraft to detect radar, jamming and laser signals hitting the aircraft, as well as the presence of chemical weapons. ALQ-211 also provides some jamming of its own, and assistance on where the signal is coming from, so the pilot can move the aircraft away from the threat, said a report published in U.S. magazine.
