And here's another astonishing fact. :wideyed:
And [By] the even[number] and odd. [Qur'an chapter 89, verse 3]
(English Translation By Sahih International)

While I find numerical analysis of words linked through themes of duality within the Qur’an to be interesting, for example Heaven and Hell each being mentioned an equal number of times, it is the mathematical symmetry found between the chapter and verse numbers which is truly fascinating.

Let’s take a look at an example:

1. The Qur’an is comprised of 114 chapters (or “Surahs”) in total. Assign each of the 114 Surahs of the Qur’an an ascending number, in order, starting with the value 1. So the first Surah in the Qur’an, Al-Fatiha, will be assigned 1, the second Surah Al-Baqarah will be assigned 2 … last Surah An-Nas will be assigned 114.

2. Adding up all of these values, 1 + 2 + 3 … +114, gives a total of 6555:

3. Each Surah contains a certain number of verses. For example the first Surah in the Qur’an, Al-Fatiha, contains a total of 7 verses. The second Surah, Al-Baqarah, contains a total of 286 verses. Adding up all of these verse totals for all the Surahs gives 6236:

4. Now, add each Surah number to the total number of verses it contains. For example, Surah Al-Fatiha is the first Surah in the Qur’an and it contains 7 verses, this will give a total of 1 + 7 = 8. If you do this for every Surah you will have 114 results:

5. When you divide these 114 results into two groups, evens and odds, you find that there is an exact distribution of 57 evens and 57 odds:

This is not the only symmetrical distribution found. The addition of all 57 evens gives a total of 6236 and the addition of all 57 odds gives a total of 6555. These values exactly match the totals that we calculated earlier from steps 2 and 3:

Anyone familiar with Computing will recognise that this serves as a checksum. A checksum is a small-size datum computed from an arbitrary block of digital data for the purpose of detecting errors that may have been introduced during its transmission or storage. Translating this into Qur’anic terms, the implication is that changing the order of any Surah in the Qur’an upsets this delicate system, as does adding or removing a single verse. Could this be additional evidence of the Qur’an’s perfect preservation, on top of the already certain knowledge that Muslims have due to its mass memorisation since the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)? God Almighty knows best.

Or maybe just a remarkable coincidence? In isolation, perhaps. But then each page of the Qur’an is literally filled with these “coincidences” throughout. Instead of viewing them as lots and lots of little, unrelated peculiarities, instead stack them up, one on top of another. Then peer up to admire the sheer scale that is the burden of evidence. This is a compass that points us to the heavens, and that’s exactly what the Qur’an is – a guide for mankind.

P.S. For the Accountants among us, here is the full table of calculations for all the Surahs (Excel spreadsheet file):

Assalam Wa'ilykum,
The total ayats are not 6666 but 6236.
There is a significant misunderstanding between us, even few days before, I myself considered the totals Ayats to be 6666. But its not true (But Allah knows Best) . I have searched upon it and found some results which I am sharing below.
Islamic Info: How many total verses in the Holy Quran?
Also, A spread sheet of summation of verses is here:
Total Verses Of Qur'an
And Allah knows Best.
Jazak Allah Sis for sharing! :)
JazakAllah Khair bhai ...:flower: For the correction.... Allah SWT Bhool chook maaf Farmyn... Thnx for this great sharing....:)

We should know that the number of Ayat wasn't predefined by our Messenger (peace be upon him) therefore there are many different counts according to the ijtihad of the sahaba (May Allah be pleased with them)
