The annual all Pakistan Naat competition jointly organized by Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television in connection with Eid Mild-un-Nabi (SAW) was held at Z.A Bukhari Auditorium, National Broadcasting House Islamabad on Monday.

In boys' category of below 15 years of age, Danial Muhammad of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa got first position, Shahzeb Ilyas from GB, Islamabad and Azad Kashmir group, came second, while Shahnawaz Hussaini of Sindh clinched the third position.

In girls' category of below 15 years of age, Noor-ul-Aain Shahid from GB, Islamabad and Azad Kashmir group, came first, while Fiza Shehzadi from KP and Aneesa Saeed from Sindh second, and third positions respectively.

In third category for boys within the age group of 15-25 years, Danish Farid from KP, Faisal Nawaz from Punjab, and Ali Ahmed from Balochistan remained first, second, and third respectively.

In the fourth category of girls within the age group of 15-25 years, Sadaf Gul of Punjab, Khizra Batool of Balochistan, and Saba Pervaiz of KP got first, second, and third positions respectively.

First position holders got cash awards of 50, 000 rupees along with a gold medal from Syed Abdul Rehman Foundation, while second and third position holders got cash award of 40, 000 and 30,000 rupees respectively in all categories.

All the other participants got cash awards of 20, 000 rupees each.

Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Dr Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and Secretary Information and Director General Radio Pakistan Shafqat Jalil gave away awards to the winners.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Dr Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said recitation of Naat connects younger generations with rich traditions of Islamic culture.

He lauded Radio Pakistan and PTV for jointly holding this great event to pay tributes to the Holy Prophet [Peace Be Upon Him].

Director General Radio Pakistan Shafqat Jalil said this year the government is holding a series of events to highlight various aspects of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet [PBUH].

He congratulated organizers and winners of this sacred competition.
