8 months and still waking

If you are feeling tired and drained because your baby will not sleep, find out where you can get support here.

At this point you will be very sleep deprived and may be finding it more difficult to deal with a waking baby. If you are certain baby is well, not hungry or needing a nappy change, then you may want to try a sleep training technique. Your Health Visitor will be able to help you with this. In some areas your Health Visitor may suggest going along to a 'sleep' clinic or group. These are often organised by your local Health Visitors and it will give you a chance to meet other parents in a similar situation. Sleep training does take time, effort and preparation. Set aside a couple of weeks when you and baby are well and resolve to follow through the advice. Try not to give up in the early stages. Many parents say it works and is worth doing.
