Shah Hussain was an outstanding Sufi saint of Punjab . He is said to be the contemporary of Emperor Akbar and therefore his date of birth around 1538.
In his childhood he received education in Muslim theology and Quran. He came to know that one must do something better than to limit oneself to the age old dogmas of religion. This knowledge futher acted as a stimulus to study spiritualism and he spent most of his time in the ill-reputed houses of professional simgers and dancers. By his deeds he tried to create a hatred feeling for himself in the minds of others, so that he could meditate or concentrate uninterrupted in the praise of the creator and the creation.
His thoughts and preachings were an amalgamation of Hindu philosophy and Muslim tradition. For him, God and universe were synonymous withy each other. Shah Hussain died in 1599.
