Some days you will notice a sudden dip in your emaan, it's as though you were so comfortable in your relationship with Allah and then someone suddenly switched the lights off, someone switched off your relationship with Him. But no one is capable of doing that, besides yourself, right? So how did it happen?

The most likely cause for a dip in one's emaan is the performance of salah, i.e. Lack of Khushoo' and Khudoo'. The lack of attentiveness, desire towards seeking Allah and connecting with Him. This affects your entire relationship with Him.

If for instance your best friends showed no effort to meet up with you, and even when they did, they showed no interest in conversing with you, how would you feel? That would affect your friendship altogether wouldn't it?

So now look at one aspect of your relationship with Allah, the biggest aspect of all, Salah!

When Allah refers to those who pray salah, He states يقيمون الصلاة which means those who establish Salah. He doesn't use the word أداء which refers to merely just performing. Why? Because salah needs more than just performance. It needs ESTABLISHMENT.

There are certain inward and outward conditions of Salah as follows:

• To complete Rukoo, Sujood and recite with attentiveness and punctuality
• To maintain تعديل الأركان (praying in a slow and steady manner)
• To avoid laziness
• To perform wudhu correctly
• To pray salah without haste etc.

Salah is supposed to help us refrain from sins, but often we find that we can not refrain, this is due to the lack of إقامة in our Salah. We need to establish salah properly in order for it to be effective. If our salah has no soul in it, then undoubtedly it will make us amongst those who are ignorant and forgetful in regards to their salah, and as Allah states in Surah Al Maa'oon, woe be to them! Allah protect us.

May Allah make us amongst those who establish Salah, thus establishing a beautiful relationship with Him. Aameen

Allahuma ameen

Along with that, one thing I've noticed as well:

If you give up your little good deeds and ignore the extra supplications, you are likely to experince a low emaan
i read it just couple of minutes ago ..:)

Any good deed, even though it appears insignificant, you should not think little of it. Having no interest in doing small hasanat is a sign of weakness of faith. May be this small deed that you think is insignificant becomes the cause of your sins being forgiven, for Allah will appreciate good deeds of any nature and will forgive sins because of them.
