Q. Allah SWT Says that only He is eternal and La-fani, rest is all Fani. But it is also mentioned that Jannat, Jahannum and life in the hereafter will be forever i-e Lafani.

Plz clear this confusion

Jazaak Allah

A. Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah's guidance)

According to the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama'ah belief, "Paradise and Hellfire have already been created and exist today, and will never cease to exist."

(Fiqhul Akbar, Chapter: The existence of Paradise and Hellfire is everlasting, contrary to deviant philosophers and blasphemers)

The detailed explanation of this is:

"Paradise" (adobe of everlasting reward)

"and Hellfire" (adobe of everlasting punishment)

"Have already been created and exist today,"

(Allah Ta'ala says, "And vie with one another for forgiveness from your lord, and for a garden whose breadth is as the heavens and earth, prepared for God fearing" (3:133), and He says,"And fear the fire that has been prepared for the unbelievers" (3:131). (note: the past tense U'iddat has been used).

"And will never cease to exist."

(This means that destruction will befall them, but not permanantly; it will be temporary, because Allah Ta'ala says, "Everything will perish save His countenance" (28:88)

Or it means that destruction will not befall them at all, in which case the words of Allah Ta'ala "Everything will perish save His countenance" (28:88) means that every possible thing is destructible in itself, in the sense that possible existence (Al Wujud Al Imkani) in contrast to necessary existence (Al Wujud Al Wajibi) is like none existence.)

(Imam Abu Hanifa's Al Fiqhul Al Akbar explained Pg.190)

Another meaning of destruction is that the thing is no longer of benefit which is temporary and not permanently. (Nashrul Fawaid Sharah Sharhul 'Aqaid Pg.150-152)

Also, in 'Aqedatut Tahawiyah it mentions regarding Paradise and Hell:

"The Garden and the Fire are created things that never come to an end and we believe that Allaah created them before the rest of creation and then created people to inhabit each of them. Whoever He wills goes to the Garden out of His Bounty and whoever He wills goes to the Fire through His justice. Everybody acts in accordance with what is destined for him and goes towards what he has been created for." ('Aqeedatut Tahawiyah)

And Only Allah Ta'ala Knows Best.
