Pakistan’s first postage stamp

The Image above displays first ever postage stamp of Pakistan. This special postage stamp was designed by A. R. Chugtai and was approved by Quaid-i-Azam. This stamp is one of the four stamps that were issued on 9th July 1948 to mark the first anniversary of independence. Three of the designs were notable sights (Constituent Assembly building, Karachi Airport, and Lahore Fort’s gateway), while the fourth (this one) is an abstract design with a crescent and Urdu inscription.
