There can be two aspects, (i) the post office delivered it so late that it can be recorded in Guiness Book of World Records, or (ii) it is reassuring and impressive that even after 20 years the post office did not loose the mail! I would go with the second positive perspective. So all you who have their mails lost, can go check up in the post offices. :p

TOBA TEK SINGH, March 9: An `urgent` mail sent from a local post office in 1991 to an address in Karachi was finally delivered on Wednesday.

Rafiq Chishti, the gentleman to whom the mail had been addressed, told reporters here on Wednesday that his parents had sent his academic certificates to him in Karachi in 1991, as he was studying there in a seminary and needed the documents to apply for a job.

The documents were posted to him through the Urgent Mail Service, a postal department`s service meant for speedier delivery of mail.

However, he said, the mail was never delivered though he repeatedly contacted the GPO Karachi and raised the matter with them.

Mr Chishti said he also complained to the Chief Minister Secretariat in Karachi but to no avail.

On Wednesday, Mr Chishti said, he was informed by the present occupant of his Karachi residence that his mail had been delivered.
