Masjid-e-Tan'eem is located in the city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is situated about 5 kilometers from the Masjid al-Haram, which is the holiest mosque in Islam and surrounds the Kaaba.
Masjid-e-Tan'eem is the place where pilgrims who are performing Umrah or Hajj from outside Mecca enter into the state of Ihram, which is a sacred state of purity and spiritual readiness required for performing the pilgrimage.
It is recommended that pilgrims intending to perform Umrah or Hajj should enter into the state of Ihram at Masjid-e-Tan'eem if possible.
